More on Web Design

Website Design Image More One ImageWeb Design to the untrained eye can be a little confusing as we tend to think that coding a website is similar to using a word processor. Working with HTML is not the same, as there are limitations to how things look and appear. You may wonder...

  • Why is my web page left aligned?

  • Why can't we use a lot more more color ?

  • Why can't we have more movement on the page?

  • Why do websites look different on my lap top computer?

It is important that you understand some of the design aspects of constructing a website

We are sure you'll have some questions about websites in general so write them down and contact the website designer featuring on the home page of this website and they will help you by providing answers to your questions so you can make informed decisions. Your website designer will work closely with you so you can get the best possible outcome.

Website Design and the User's Experience
A user does not have an experience if they can't find your website!

Website design should focus on the user's experience. It has to be said that the most profitable and best looking websites on the internet today all have one thing in common. They are based on user experience. Most will have a very clear navigational path.

When it comes to good web design you need only look to the major players.

Let's look at ™Google as an example. Your experience on ™Google is consistent every time. No real bells and whistles with this search engine but what you do know is that it is going to consistently deliver every time. When deciding what type of website you would like, keep this principle in mind..... an uncluttered look with clear navigation. Do you think the guys at ™Google are making a dollar?

What's in it For Me
You know from your own experiences when it comes to using a website...... you are on a mission. So the first question when arriving at a website is ...what's in it for me? If you can't get to the information you want within a few clicks, you're off to another website to find what you're looking for. So keep this in mind. Your main page should grab the user's attention and deliver your unique message quickly.
Load and Deliver
There is another important factor to keep in mind as a part of your overall website design. Is your target audience using dial up or broadband? Having fast loading web pages is an important part of user experience. Having a website designed in flash will mean those on dial up will be waiting for some time for the website to load. Will your website visitor crash out of your website before the page has loaded? If this is the case then you did not deliver your message and you have wasted your time and money. A combination of flash and HTML maybe the way to go.
But wait there is even more on website design
